On October 31, 2017 and 91 years later, the Gran Hotel Miramar in Málaga was reopened, the emblematic building of the city and with a 5-star luxury category.
The building, designed by the architect Fernando Guerrero Strachan, was inaugurated in 1926 by King Alfonso XIII with the name of the Hotel Príncipe de Asturias.
In 1936 and during the Civil War, it became the Campaign Hospital. When the War ended in 1939, it reopened its doors, becoming the Hotel Miramar, until its activity ended in 1967.
20 years later and until 2007 it became the seat of the Palace of Justice of Málaga and a year later it became the property of the Santos Family.
They have been many years of paperwork, effort and hard work of rehabilitation of the building, which have remained as in its origins, until in 2016 it opens its doors with the name of Gran Hotel Miramar.
And 10 months after its opening it has officially reopened.
We attended the event more than 1,500 people among politicians, celebrities, suppliers, family and friends … and the people of Málaga.
There was no lack of detail. All the rooms were equipped with snacks and drinks service, ham cutters, live music in each corner, costumed actors of the time, costumed actors coinciding with the night of Halloween. The history of the hotel was officially counted from its beginnings. A very emotional speech was given by our Mayor of Málaga, the Government Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía and, of course, its owner, Mr. José Luis Santos.
Everything ended up flying sky lanterns, balloons and a fireworks show.
You could walk around and visit all the facilities of the Hotel and we were very excited to see how our buffets were used behind closed doors to keep the appetizers that were being served at a correct temperature.
Being mobile and very light buffets, they easily changed the disposition so that the chefs could use them to support everything that was being prepared at the time.
We would like to thank Santos Hotels again for the trust placed in King’s Buffets by purchasing our custom buffets equipment.
King’s Buffets as a company from Málaga, we are very proud of having participated in this great project and as important as it is for the city of Málaga.
We wish Hoteles Santos the greatest success.
We leave you with some photos of the celebration and how we enjoyed it.
